Traffic fine (and municipal accounts) roadshow loading for Mitchells

Following a host of successful traffic fine roadshows at the Civic Centre in the Cape Town CBD, the City departments involved are taking the show on the road, and expanding the service offering to Mitchells Plain.
The next roadshow will take place at the Lentegeur Civic in Merrydale Road, Mitchells Plain from 29 to 31 July 2024.
The roadshow will run between 08:30 and 18:00 daily.
'It's a different venue, but the concept remains the same – an opportunity to resolve outstanding fines, warrants and petition for a reduction in outstanding amounts. Also, we understand that the Cape Town CBD might be a bit far for many to get to, hence the change in venue, to give more people an opportunity to exploit the single-service point. As always, I do want to remind members of the public to please be patient, and to ensure that they have all of the necessary documentation with them to avoid disappointment, or multiple trips,' said Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith.
Departments involved in the Road Show include the Traffic Service, Legal Services, and the City's Revenue Department.
'This roadshow will also provide an opportunity for customers to resolve queries relating to their City rates/services accounts and complete applications for indigent and/or pensioner's rebates. Cape Town has some of South Africa's most inclusive assistance for rates and tariff relief. There is a lot of help available and we encourage our qualifying residents to approach us. We can only know if there is a need if they approach us for help. Please bring your ID, proof of residence and copy of account and three-months banking statements,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi.
People planning to attend the roadshow for assistance with their traffic fines are advised to please have a valid form of identification (ID, passport or driving licence) or a Traffic Register Certificate.
If they are representing someone else, they must have their own ID, a copy of the ID of the person they are representing, and an affidavit granting them permission to act on the other person's behalf.
